Our Story
Located in a small market in Worli, our founder, Mr. Vasant Sawant, established our first store, New Modern Optician, in 1967. In the early days, we started by selling eyeglasses and sunglasses.
Soon after, our store became a trusted name for dispensing glasses that focused primarily on quality, in an industry that was unfamiliar with quality eyewear. Over the years, we built a reputation for providing eyewear with remarkable quality and impeccable customer service, the two key metrics of business performance that laid the foundation of our business.
Second Generation
Within a few years, Mr. Sunil Vasant Sawant stepped in to take the reins of the business. He embarked on a journey to escalate the business to new heights. A diverse selection of renowned eyewear brands was introduced to provide our customers with access to a wide range of exclusive eyewear, setting us apart from other opticians. Alongside, a contact lens clinic was set up, making our store a one-stop solution for all vision care needs. With the primary goal of fostering growth and development, Mr. Sunil Sawant expanded the business by opening a larger store in 2007. As fate would have it, the location he chose for the new store had been a cherished dream location for his late father.
This story goes beyond mere business; it is an inspiring tale of a son honouring his father's legacy and carrying forward his vision, ensuring the prosperity of their family business.
Third Generation
Mr. Saahil S. Sawant, is the latest member of the family to come onboard. Following the successful completion of a Master's in Retail from a prestigious institution in England, he started bringing in his expertise and passion, to further enhance our business. He transformed our store with a carefully curated collection of world-class luxury eyewear brands, thereby revamping our store into the ultimate destination for those seeking elegant and extraordinary eyewear experiences. The continuation of the legacy through family members has been instrumental in preserving our traditions and values, contributing to the sustained growth and success of our business.
Today, we stand strong, with the trust and loyalty of our customers, that we have earned, through years of consistent and high-quality service.
